Zotero not recognizing books and articles in Chrome

From one minute to the next, Zotero has gone from lifting books from catologues (eg Worldcat) to recognizing it as a web page and lifting it as such. Why?

    @adamsmith There is an issue not covered in the linked documentation. Earlier today WorldCat pages (both the subscription and public versions) were very slow to complete loading. The wait for Zotero to capture the metadata (and for the Zotero icon to change from webpage to book) was well more than 30 seconds.

    This is similar to the behavior of ScienceDirect when adserver delays lead to slowness of the page fully loading and the Zotero icon changing to article. The page appears to be all there but something in the background hasn't finished and the translator has to wait for the metadata to be available.
