"Could not read text for PDF"

    I have the same problem.
    every time I retrieve metadata for PDF, it shows the massage "could not read text for PDF".
    therefore I want to find the "PDF indexing" to reinstall the PDF tools

    Again, the tools are bundled, so you can't reinstall them.

    You can try reinstalling Zotero, but if you're still getting that message, either the file itself doesn't contain accessible text or security software on your system is preventing the PDF tools from running.

    thank you so much. actually, I have reinstalled zotero for many times and I even uninstalled my security software. I still can retrieve metadata from all my PDF.
