'Error processing uploaded data' when syncing

Report ID: ad632047

I imported my Endnote library into Zotero, which worked fine. However, when the sync is attempted, I get an 'Error processing uploaded data' message.

Additionally, although I can see the Endnote library I uploaded in the Zotero pane, it does not appear in the library accessible though the 'My Library' tab on the Zotero website.
  • I'm getting the same error. Additionally, I found I had to split up my Endnote database, because it was too large. The section on which the Zotero sync choked was a section of 1,400 references.
  • Did splitting up your Endnote library prevent the sync error? My Endnote library had around 2500 references.
  • It did at first. When I sent over about 500 references, there was no problem. It choked on 1400 - but I don't know whether that was the single transfer of 1400 or the aggregate of about 2000.
  • Ok. I deleted the 1400 file, imported an additional 500 to the 500 already there. When I took out the big filke, the sync problem disappeared. When I added the extra 500, the sync problem re-emerged.
  • So, if I understand correctly, you:

    1. Deleted the library of 1400 references that you had tried to add to the library of 500 references you had successfully synced previously;
    2. Imported an additional 500 references to this library of 500;
    3. Tried to sync this new library of 1000 references and received the former error message.

    If this is right, it suggests that Zotero has trouble syncing large libraries, irrespective of whether the library is imported en masse or in sections. I wonder if Zotero users who have built up large 'native' Zotero libraries (ie, ones that have been created from scratch using Zotero) are having a similar problem, or if it's something particular to imported libraries.
  • Yes, your restatement is correct, and I have come to the same conclustion.

    I guess we wait for the nest update!
