Citing articles from news companies' websites

Hello,

When creating a new entry, I was just wondering what the best/recommended "item type" is, when citing an online news article.

No actual such category exists; there is "webpage", "blog post", and I believe "newspaper article", but none of these quite fits.

What have others done in such cases?

I typically use webpage for online press releases and similar material; seems like the best description.

I see now. I was using Zotero as a standalone, and it doesn't have a "webpage" category, but I see it now in the online version.

If you are citing from a cite like New York Times (an actual news organization), I would recommend Magazine Article or Newspaper Article depending on the organization.

yeah, the lines are blurry but also not terribly important: E.g. is a piece published on The Atlantic webpage but not in the print edition a webpage, a blogpost, a magazine article? In the end, what matters is that the citation includes author, date, title, site/magazine title, and URL
