Is there an easy way to send a document and its bibliography via email?

I apologize if the answer to this question is obvious, but one thing I often do is to email an article and its reference information to a student. (I'm a Mac user, and use an email app like Mail or Mailmate).

Is there any way to, in one step, attach the document and its reference information to an email?

  • You can drag the item from Zotero to the mail program to insert a formatted reference. If you expand the item to show the attachment (click the little arrow next to it on the lift or type the right arrow or + key), you can drag the attachment item to attach the file to the mail.

If you want to send bibliographic data for importing into Zotero, I would recommend setting up a group library to share with your colleagues to send items back and forth.
  • Thank you - that *is* obvious and it works well. I see I can drag the reference over as well, so 2 "drags" will produce what I want.

Thanks for taking the time to help out a neophyte - I appreciate it.
