Cannot get the Zotero Tab to appear in Windows Word 2016

Hi All ,

I'm having all sorts of issues trying to get the Zotero tab to appear in word on my Windows 10 machine. I have Office 365 so am using the latest version of word. I've tried all the help information in the documentation. The dotm file is in the Start Up but I still don't see Zotero as an add-in in word. Any thoughts brains trust?

    Have you checked the Word startup location? What is it set to? https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_manual_installation#locating_your_word_startup_folder

    This is the current location C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Office.Desktop_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Roaming\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP

    I've tried changing it to the other location, however it keeps reverting to this. Is this the problem?

    This would be the problem, yes. Is this your personal computer? Can you revert the location to the default one? Is this a new install of Microsoft Word? As a last resort you could move Zotero.dotm to this folder, but there shouldn't be any reason for the Startup folder to be there.

    Couldn't change the default so have moved to file to that location and it is working :) Thanks for your help!!!

    I have the same problem, my Zotero tab suddenly disappeard in Word (365) and I can't make it appear again. The day before it worked all fine but now its gone. I tried every hint in the forum but it doesn't help. The Startup folder is in the correct location and the zotero.dotm file is there. Everyting seems correct but the zotero tab remains gone. Is there any other way to bring it back? Thanks a lot.

    If you open the Zotero.dotm file in Word does the tab show up? (This is not a fix, just a test)
