Delete file from a collection

I copied a file from Collection A to Collection B and now want to delete the original file in Collection A. When I highlight the file and click on Edit, the Delete option is greyed out and I can't select it. Checked other files and I'm not able to highlight Delete for any of them. Dragging file to Mac trash can doesn't work either. Such a simple thing, I must be missing something - any advice much appreciated!

    don't use the top menus. Most conveneniently, you can just press the delete key from your keyboard. Alternatively, you can right-click (aka 2finger click, ctrl+click) and select remove from collection.
