How to edit JACS style?

I downloaded JACS style to my computer and when I copied codes from the file to zotero style editor, I found that I could not change xml codes because there was no "macro name" and the codes overall were very short. How can I make changes to the style?

    It sounds like that is a dependent style. Near the top of the style there will be a line labeled “independent parent” that the JACS styles emulates. Download and edit that style.

    Is there an error in the JACS style that needs to be corrected?
