Zotero extension for firefox and chrome stopped working suddenly

after a long day of working with zotero extension to both browsers (cant use safari since safari 12 update) it just stopped working. When i want to save something to zotero an error message appears but none of the issues appearing in the help page make sense since it was working fine until 5m before and nothing was changed... Could you please help? i'm running out of browsers and use zotero for my job...
  • Have you gone through the usual troubleshooting motions, like restarting your browser, Zotero, computer, etc. If so, what is the error message that you are seeing? Could you submit a Report ID from one of the Connectors where you have run into problems?
  • Hi! thanx for the reply.
Sure, i restarted both browsers and zotero itself and even removed the zotero add-on and installed it again.
I tried it again now and it seems to be working fine- strange... i was using it extensively yesterday and scholar asked me if im not a robot a few times after which zotero add on seems to have given up. Maybe thats why? though i've tried it again after 6h of no activity and it still would present the error, which is why i've asked for help. Oh well, computers are strange. Hope it won't happen again. Thanx for the support!
  • If you are adding items exclusively from google scholar, then you will indeed eventually get locked out by google. There is nothing Zotero can do about this. If you do get locked out, you will need to click through individual links in google scholar and save those instead.
  • Well google scholar did kick me out but after i've continued it i'm not a robot i was allowed access. The Zotero add on however refused to save links to my library nevertheless.
  • Google scholar likely still blocked access to the bibtex, the data format that Zotero needs for import. (You can check by clicking on the quotation mark icon and then on BibTeX)
