Since Zotero is based in Mozilla Firefox, it is possible to create and edit a chrome profile to edit its appearance. However, it's very hard to style it because there's no class names among other things.
Is there a resource somewhere where we can access this to change Zotero's appearance? It's very outdated and it would be nice to open it up to new designs. Heck, maybe even adopt the Quantum design language from firefox.

But for what it's worth, if you build Zotero yourself you can use the Firefox dev tools, as explained there, to inspect the Zotero DOM.
So what do you mean when you say that Zotero won't be based on Firefox for long? What's in the works?
