Style: Molecular Ecology issues
Hello all,
My citation style for Molecular Ecology appears to have trouble with some of my sources. As an example, I have this paper for which the citation style provides the correct reference:
Connor, K. M., & Gracey, A. Y. (2011). Circadian cycles are the dominant transcriptional rhythm in the intertidal mussel Mytilus californianus. Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 108(38), 16110–16115. doi:10.1073/pnas.1111076108
However it provides this (correct) in-text citation when I create a clipboard copy of the citation from Zotero
(Connor & Gracey, 2011)
but this incorrect citation when I insert the citation from my Word document
(Kwasi M. Connor & Gracey, 2012).
Similarly, I have several sources for which both the manual and automatic citation provides the entire list of authors in the in-text citation (L. Tomanek, Zuzow, Hitt, Serafini, & Valenzuela, 2012) rather than reducing to one author with et al. (Tomanek et al. 2012).
Is this an update that is needed with the style itself or is it a problem with my connection between Zotero and Word?
Thanks!

adamsmithYou're seeing https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/given_name_disambiguation for Connor and I'm pretty sure up to 5 authors before et al are correct for Molecular Ecology for the first citation to a work.

coryeloweYes, you're right, I did just find the multiple authors rule in the guidelines. Thank you!! I'll try to fix the given name disambiguation.
