Transfer group to New Owner

How do I transfer group ownership? I'm leaving my position and need to reassign ownership of several groups.

  • 1. Go here: https://www.zotero.org/groups
    2. Click on "Manage Profile" below the relevant group
    3. Transfer ownership is at the bottom-ish right of that page (it's the "Group Settings" page. There are other ways to get there, too)
    4. Note that the new owner has to accept the transfer before it is completed.

    Can I also transfer the file storage space I have purchased?
  • no, sorry. The new owner will have to buy storage.
    (For this reason, I recommend running storage for labs/working groups through an institutional account that's unaffected by changes in personnel. Might be worth considering for the organization you're leaving, too).

  • Go to the group page >> group settings >> bottom right

    If you don't see it on the group settings page, you are not the group owner.
