Non-superscript numbers on footnotes

I have just begun using Zotero for my reference citations, using the Chicago style, but am trying to find out if there is any way to have the footnote appear with a large number (followed by a full stop and a space) rather than a small superscript number as is standard in Zotero now. This full sized number with a full stop and space is becoming more accepted in my field. I have copied an pasted a macro from http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/MacrosVBA/UnSuperscptFnotes.htm to Word which allows my regular footnotes to appear as such, but then when I insert a Zotero footnote it overrides the macro and places it back in superscript.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

I'm not a Word user, and don't know anything about its macro language, but it must be possible to set up a macro to apply this styling after the document has been finalized.

Alternatively, I suppose you could amend the macro code in the Zotero plugin so that it calls your workaround code.
  • Thanks for that...I guess my problem is I know pretty much zip about macros and only managed the first one because it was a cut and paste...but I will see if I can't learn a thing or two and try to figure out how to do what you suggested.
