Endnote duplicates

Hi,

I am using the LibreOffice article template from : https://www.librelatex.org/
And the Chicago Manual of Style (note)

When I create a link to the same entry, the bibliography show it twice : https://ibb.co/i5W6Ko ( "i" and "iv" are the same )

How can I change this behavior so that both are pointing to "i" ?

  • This is the expected behavior for footnote styles and how the Chicago manual generally wants subsequent citations to the same item to be formatted. If you want refer to the same footnote a second time, rather than inserting a new citation, you would use Word/LibreOffice's "Cross-reference" function and point it to the existing footnote (note that if you change your style to an in-text style, these cross-references will break).
  • Hi, thanks for your answer!

I actually found that out after I opened my ticket... I wanted to cancel it but couldn't while waiting for approval...

Anyway it might be good to be there if another beginner like me comes across this question!

    Kind regards
