Exporting from Endnote 7 to Zotero
We are testing Zotero for wider use in our research think tank. I tried exporting an existing Endnote library, via an XML file, and a couple of the fields did not line up. Perhaps the most problematic, the issue number has not come across into the issue field. The error says "The following values have no corresponding Zotero field: number: 3" We are using Endnote v.7.8 (bld 11583). It doesn't offer the option of an RIS export. Any ideas?

Endnote XML has sometimes been a moving target that contradicts past versions (like RIS). Chris Putnam's 'bibutils' treats 'number' and 'issue' that it sees when reading in Endnote XML the same. Perhaps we should too?

@bwiernik The journal field in Endnote that isn't exporting properly is called "Issue".
I haven't tried the RIS download suggested by @noksagt (https://endnote.com/downloads/style/reference-manager-ris-export)
Did that solve the problem?
Thanks!

.@zuphilip Here's a dropbox folder link with a minimal example of EndnoteX7 XML: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/tro7ivgawzts2yb/AAD28bKzcCpTs7HA88QjmPkpa?dl=0
Endnote's XML already shows "number". So I tried to replace "number" with "issue" since Zotero uses issue. But i got an error message when I tried importing the modified XML into Zotero. Error message: "The selected file is not in a supported format."
So I used both Notepad++ (on a PC) and TextEdit (on a Mac) to edit (find-replace) the XML and both worked fine up to when I tried to import to Zotero, then I got the same error message, and wasn't able to import the library.

tags? If yes, can you post your XML as edited somewhere?I'm having an issue following the instructions for erasing the "_EndnoteXML import" notes from the instructions in: https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/importing_records_from_endnote
They state: "You can quickly display all of the notes generated during import by clicking on the “_EndnoteXML import” tag in the tag selector in the lower-left corner of the Zotero window. You can quickly delete all of these notes by selecting the tag in the tag selector, typing Ctrl/Cmd+A, and then right-clicking and choosing “Delete Selected Items from Library…”."
The issue comes in typing "Ctrl/Cmd+A", I tried the combination of those three keys and then just Control+A and also then Command+A. None work. Any suggestions? (I have 5086 items when I highlight that tag)
I've clarified the instructions.
I figured out what the missing instruction is: After selecting the "_EndnoteXML import" on the lower-left corner, one has to click on one of the error notes in the list of items. Then click Ctrl/Cmd+A which will highlight all the similar error notes. Then left click to move to trash. Just sharing this in case anyone else had the issue and then maybe that calls for an update to the instructions on: https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/importing_records_from_endnote
