Google docs to Insert bibliography in Word

Hi. I am working on a paper with colleagues. We are writing in google docs to better collaborate, but I would prefer to do the final editing and insert the bibliography in Microsft Word.

With the "Scannable cite function" I know I can put the citation in Google Docs, export in odt file than import into the RTF/ODF scan.

But from there I am lost... Do I need to select RTF, or one of the two ODF possibilities ?
It doesn't work either in Word, Openoffice or Libreoffice to insert the bibliography.
It says that I need first to add citations but there are many in my text. I can see the field.

Please help. A video tutorial is the better. I am visual.
Thanks a lot.
  • Select the ODF "(to citations)" option. Then, open the file in LibreOffice, click Document Preferences in the Zotero Toolbar, change the citation storage format to "Bookmarks", and save the file as .docx. Then you can open the file in Word, open Document Preferences again, and change the storage format back to "Fields" and finish your citing as normally.
  • It still dowsn't work. In Word I am loosing the field of the citation.
Here is a video so you can see better: https://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cF1hIJbRfY

    Thanks for your help.
  • I think you may have to make the changes in LibreOffice in two steps:
    1. Document Preferences --> Set a citation styles, click OK

--> you should see the fields in the document updates

    2. Document Preferences --> Change to bookmarks, click OK

then save as docx (also try .doc if .docx doesn't work; I've made bad experiences with LibreOffice docx export)
