CanLII journal articles

Recently CanLII added a new database of journal articles (along with other secondary source material). Currently Zotero is not able to recognize the item type nor accurately capture citation information.

    It's not easy, I'm afraid. The reticence of the law community to implement anything resembling structured metadata literally anywhere is almost comical at this point.

    To be fair, CanLII does offer an API for cases and legislation.

    Best of class is the CourtListener API:

    But there is a tendency in the field to be stingy about support for reuse. Don't know if that's the case with the CanLII articles service. We'll see.

    @fbennett The API of CanLII looks interesting. Do you know whether they allow to save the same API key for all Zotero users in a translator?

    @zuphilip Sorry - I think I stupidly responded by mail to the noreply notice from the forum, then didn't follow up when it bounced. I don't know what CanLII policy is, but it might be worth writing to them.

    There is not much we can do without structured metadata. You will have to retype the citation details for any items that you find there by hand.
