Report ID 16550372 - I cannot move collection from personal library to group library

Report ID 16550372 - I am using a Chrome Browser. When I move a collection from my person library to the group library, only one thing transfers: an empty folder with the collection's name. None of the contents or subcollections with their contents transfer.

I have completely deleted the contents of my group library and have tried the transfer multiple times.

I am new to
  • Two questions:

Have you emptied the trash in the Group library? Does it work after you do so?

Can you manually create an item in the group library (to ensure that you have editing access to the library)?
  • The trash in the group library was already empty. (I double-checked). I can also create a new item in the group library AND move a single item from my personal library to the group library. In each of these cases, I moved the items to trash and then emptied the trash.
  • 1) Restart Zotero and try again.

    2) If it still doesn't work, can you provide a Debug ID for a drag attempt that fails?
  • So copying or moving full collections between the personal and a group library should work? I don't see anything happening when I drag a collection to a group lib. Nothing in the debug logs either -- literally. When I drag and drop, the logs don't update. I take it this still can't be done from the web app as per https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/comment/299141#Comment_299141?
  • More info -- single collections work, nested collections don't.
  • Even if I do flatten my hierarchy and copy them one by one, there are two collections that don't copy, with no errors in the logs. BBT disables, debug logging on, report D229903998.
  • So copying or moving full collections between the personal and a group library should work?
Yes. You just can't drag a collection that you've dragged previously (without deleting it from the target library first).
  • I'm not sure how to interpret that, but the ones I couldn't copy had just a few items, so I've just recreated those manually.
