Can't insert citation after Libre Office update

I've updated Libre Office to 5.3.7.2 (x64) and tried to insert a citation for the first time, with Zotero open. The Zotero library entry was added long time ago and I used it already in another document. This time nothing happened. This document doesn't have any other citations or bibliographies.

Zotero installed an update after I restarted now, but still nothing, and it didn't see any errors. Report ID 252557304.

When you click Add/Edit citation do you get any response from Zotero? Do you see the citation dialog?

Make sure a JRE is selected in LibreOffice. You can follow these instructions https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_troubleshooting#installation_error

I installed a new Java update: jre-9.0.4_windows-x64_bin.exe but Libre Office doesn't see it. In the Tools > Options > Advanced "use Java" is selected, but the list of "installed Java environments (JRE)" is empty.

That's Java SE. You need the JRE

Ugh, excuse the above. Jave SE JRE is what you want, but you will either need to install version 8 or upgrade LibreOffice to the fresh version of 5.4.4, where it seems they have added support for Java JRE version 9.

I installed the new LibreOffice version, but when I opened it, I got a message that it requires a JRE which is not installed... but I installed it just recently...? The list of Java environments in LibreOffice is still empty.
But this time, when trying to insert a Zotero citation, Zotero recorded an error "Translators not yet loaded". Report ID: 1444254774

The translators not loaded error is likely unrelated and you can ignore it. You might need to manually locate JRE for LibreOffice, which once done, should make the plugin work.

I used Libre Office 6.0.3 and Java 9.0.4. No way to use Zotero. Uninstalled both. Reinstalled Java 8 ver 161 and LO 5.3.7.2. Java was automatically detected by LO, manual installation of Zotero via LO extensions no problem

Also, I launched Internet Explorer and it says that Java works fine (Version 8 Update 161).

You will need to ensure LibreOffice sees your installation of Java. Until you manage to do that, there is little we can do to help you, since without an active JRE in LibreOffice the Zotero plugin will not work. But it doesn't work, and Zotero doesn't report errors.

It seems to work now!
When doing manual installation I got this:

"You are about to install version 5.0.8 of the extension 'Zotero LibreOffice Integration'.
That version is already installed.
Click 'OK' to replace the installed extension."

but I installed it and now it works... thanks!
