Proposed this idea before. I made this suggestion again because I think this issue is really important. And I hope Zotero can improve.
Every time I import a duplicate literature to zotero, it won't tell me this is a duplicate document.
I must use the 'Duplicate entry’ to merge them. But these two pdf will still leave in my hard disk.
I have to find them and delete one of them. It cost me a lot of time.
So I suggest zotero to recognize the duplicate entry when I import it and help me to delete it.

adamsmithThanks -- there's really no need to bring the same thing up multiple times. This has been discussed multiple times here; everyone is aware of the feature request and everyone agrees that this would be very useful -- it's also not very easy to do, so it won't happen quickly.
