Zotero Word Processor Plugin does not appear in add-ons and will not work in Word

I just installed Zotero today on my Mac (version 10.13.3) and instantly found that it would not work (most recent update of Zotero as well as Microsoft Word). I've pinned the cause down to be that in Add-ons Manager -> Extensions that no Word plugin appears in the list, only LibreOffice Integration. In Zotero Preferences -> Cite -> Word Processors, Word Integration again does not appear. It runs on Word but gives the error message "Word could not communicate with Zotero. Please ensure that Zotero is open and try again." Any help is appreciated to fix this.

    This is in Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions? It doesn't appear at all? That's quite strange. We don't normally recommend this, but have you tried reinstalling Zotero?

    Yes. I have reinstalled 4 times already and I'm still in the same position.

    Yeah, something's very off here — you're getting all sorts of bizarre errors.

    Do you have Zotero installed in the normal location in /Applications on the main system drive?

    Can you provide a Debug ID for Zotero startup?

    Are you running any sort of security software on this computer?

    If you haven't loaded any data (or it's easy to reload), I would also try closing Zotero and deleting your Zotero profile directory to see if that helps.

    I ran the debug, and now the error is resolved! Everything seems to be working fine now, the Word plugin is now running as it should. Thanks for your help!
