Actually, I can't think of something that would have to be different compared to the reference type for book. It's just that the reference type title would make it immediately clear that the item concerns a dictionary or encyclopedia (and not just a book), which sometimes could be useful.
A specific icon would also make this immediately clear in the middle pane. But then again, it is a minor concern.

However, I imagine it would be interesting also to have types for the containers of these entries and articles, i.e. "dictionary" and "encyclopedia."
