Science magazine translator not downloading PDFs

Using Firefox 58.0.1, Zotero 5.0.35, Zotero connector add-on 5.0.35

From URL http://science.sciencemag.org/content/359/6376/623

Click Zotero "article" icon in Firefox. The article and snapshot are saved to Zotero, but PDF fails.

The translator seems to mangle the URL when it tries to download the PDF. From the Zotero Connector Debug Output log window:

Reference Debug ID D2058216671
  • For PDFs we generally need to see a Debug ID from Zotero, not the connector. (No need to post the output — the id is sufficient.)
  • (Though yes, that PDF URL does look wrong, so that may be enough in this case.)
  • Yeah, I can reproduce this. No need for another Debug ID. Someone will need to take a look at the HighWire translator.
  • No, this isn't the translator, it's on their page:
    <meta name="citation_pdf_url" content="http:/ence.sciencemag.org/content/sci/359/6376/623.full.pdf" />
    This has come up before and I thought they said they'd fix it. Please report to Science (we can fix this, but this can't be on purpose)
  • Thanks for the very fast response. I have submitted feedback to Science explaining the problem and asking them to fix it.
  • Science has fixed the problem and the PDFs now save properly.
  • perfect, thanks for reporting to them and reporting back here.
