Importing Endnote library into Zotero with unsupported fields

I want to import my library from endnote to standalone zotero for Mac. Customarily, fields that are not in Zotero go into a separate Notes section linked to the item. How can I import the library so that all that unasignable information goes into the EXTRA field in Zotero and not to a separate note? I'm importing an .xml endnote file, since that is the one that allows me to import with text formatting (which is lost when importing a .txt file, it seems). Help, please.

    I would dearly appreciate some input or at least a probable date this could be addressed, or if it is likely it would be addressed. I'm holding my change to Zotero, pending on this issue. It it won't be addressed in the foreseeable future I would like to know to make another plan. Thank you.
