"Conference name" vs "Proceedings title"

I manage the web pages of some conference proceedings and I would like to provide to zotero some info so that it can fill both the fields.

They can have slightly different values, for instance:
Conference name: "Nice conference"
Proceedings title: "Proceedings of Nice conference - NC2018"

Also, I would like that, when exported in bibtex, the proceeding title be used as booktitle.

So far I've used citation_conference, citation_conference_title, citation_conference_publication in elements in the html header, but only got to fill the "conference name" field in zotero.

Do you have any advice?

I don't think we import proceedings titles from highwire metatags (which are very much optimized for journal articles), but we certainly could if we knew from where. Do you have any documentation that citation_conference_publication exists as a somewhat official field?

right, what I'm saying is that we don't know of any standardized metatag that holds that information. I'm happy to add ability to import proceedings titles into Zotero from metatags if we have a good candidate, but I'm not aware of one.

Currently the only option to get that info into Zotero that I'm aware of would be a dedicated translator or unAPI.

I personally use "citation_conference_proceedings_title" for my sites, but I believe I just chose this to mirror the structure for reports and theses.

Springer uses "citation_inbook_title" and "citation_conference_title", e.g. https://link.springer.com/chapter/10.1007/978-3-319-12823-8_5 . The conference name should work already in EM translator in general and the proceeding title is added in the specific Springer translator only. We might just add this also to the generic EM translator. But you can also try "citation_book_title" which should already work now.

Only for completeness, since @bwiernik mentioned "citation_conference_proceedings_title", please note that "<proceedings_title>" is what also crossref uses when you send metadata to them (to register DOIs):

"citation_inbook_title" and "citation_conference_title" is what I was looking for, but I cannot replicate the feature on my site/entries.
Should I write a dedicated translator?
(sorry if I'm missing something, I'm new to zotero)

If I use "citation_book_title" my item type becames "book", so it is not good for me :-)

@gamboz Can you provide a test website of your implementation? Then we can look at what changes would be needed for the existing generic metadata translator. Or ask you to change something...

@gamboz for bibtex exports, can you see if BBT does what you want? If not, a postscript will fix it (unless its an error in BBT, in which case I will fix it).

both "bibtex" and "better bibtex" quick copy work well (zotero's "proceedings title" goes into bibtex's "booktitle" field)

Should be fixed now in the metadata translator. Can you update your Translators in the Advanced pane of the Zotero Connector preferences if they are not already and try again?
