CMOS Full Note ommitting short title

For some reason, my second citation of a source is not using the short title, which is properly entered in the database. Instead, I am getting Lastname, pagenumber

    That would happen when the position is ibid, i.e. citing the same thing multiple times in a row, and is in line with CMoS17

    I misunderstood. In place of Ibid CMoS17 uses lastname, page only. Short title when not replacing Ibid. Got it. Many thanks.
