Zotero for Mac makes my computer crash ?

I have the 5.0.33 version of Zotero, mac OS version 10.13.2 and I use OpenOffice 4.1.1. Every time I try to add a citation, the screen goes black and my mac restarts. Any idea what that might be ?

Zotero 5.0 requires LibreOffice 5.2 or newer, and OpenOffice is no longer supported (see https://www.zotero.org/support/system_requirements#libreoffice).

OpenOffice was at one time very good software. Later, it went through a long period where it was owned/managed by different large companies and was no longer useful. A few years ago Apache received control of OpenOffice from Oracle Corporation and restarted development. Apache hasn't really devoted the necessary effort to keep the software up with contemporary standards nor with recent versions of operating systems. LibreOffice is a "flavor" of the OpenOffice project. What was OO is now maintained as LibreOffice by many from the original OOo team. See:
