Cannot add websites, articles, or any web pages into zotero (Firefox)

When I go to any web page or website, the Zotero icon in Firefox just tells me the zotero is online (red 'z'). Either that, or it is gray (shaped like a page), telling me 'Save to Zotero (Page with Snapshot)'. But when I click it, nothing happens. Before this problem occurred, I was able to simply click the icon, and a little box would appear at the bottom right saying 'Saving to Zotero'. Now, nothing happens and nothing is being saved to Zotero. Help, please?

    2) After having following the necessary steps, I have found none to be of major help, as I had already been following the steps beforehand.

I hope providing the report ID helps you to try to solve the problem.

  • After having following the necessary steps, I have found none to be of major help, as I had already been following the steps beforehand.
(Note that the steps end with a request for specific information, which you haven't provided. We may not need it in this case, though.)

Can you go to the Advanced pane of the Zotero Connector preferences, click on Config Editor, click through the warning, and then copy the value for 'proxies.proxies' and email it to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread?

If you then click Reset next to that line and restart your browser, this might go away.

OK, yeah, you somehow ended up with an incomplete proxy entry, and I believe that would indeed break things. We'll fix the breakage and try to figure out how this happened, but if you click Reset (and possibly restart the browser) that should fix things.
  • Thanks so much! I'll try it right now.
  • Wow it seems to have worked. If there are any more issues, I will approach you. Thanks so much!!!
