Zotero not saving PDF using chrome extension

Trying to save a PDF to my library using the chrome extension on a macbook and it is not working for any site. Please help!

    I am following the link to the pdf, then i click on the zotero extension in my chrome extension bar, and it says "an error occurred while saving this item"

    Yes, that should work fine, and does for me.

    Is the save button showing a PDF icon that says "Save to Zotero (PDF)" when you hover over it?

    Do you have the Zotero program open when you try to save?

    If yes to both, can you provide a Debug ID from the connector for the save attempt?

    www.acf.hhs.gov:443 uses an invalid security certificate.

    The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown.
    The server might not be sending the appropriate intermediate certificates.
    An additional root certificate may need to be imported.
    Something on your computer or network is intercepting your internet connection, which is interfering with Zotero. See SSL Certificate Error.
