Duplicate library after upgrading from Firefox to standalone installation?

I have upgraded to Zotero 5 after using Zotero with Waterfox, a Firefox variant, LibreOffice and Windows 8.1 for many years.

The upgrade went smoothly, everything is working properly and I don't appear to have lost any files — thank you to all involved for a smooth upgrade experience.

But I have a question: The Zotero extension disappeared from Waterfox after the upgrade, but my 9GB Zotero library still appears at "C:\Users\OWNER\AppData\Roaming\Waterfox\Profiles\". It also seems that the library was copied to the standalone installation at "C:\Users\OWNER\Zotero\storage".

Can the library in the Waterfox profile be deleted?

Thanks in advance

Do you have your full profile working in Zotero 5 (and not, perhaps, an older version of your library potentially from a previous installation of Zotero Standalone)? If you can confirm that you have your full library and that Zotero 5 Data Directory Location is "C:\Users\OWNER\Zotero" in the Advanced preferences, then, yes, you can delete the zotero folder from the Waterfox profile. Zotero is supposed to delete this when it migrates your library during the upgrade, but it's possible that that final part of the upgrade process failed for some reason.
  • Thanks, bwiernik.

After confirming the location of the data diretory and double-checking that old files were still accessible, I deleted the waterfox version of the library. Everything is working fine.
