Authors and et al formatting

greetings,

i'm creating a new style, but couldn't find any way to apply different formats to the authors' names and "et al".

Something like AUTHORNAME, A. et al.

Using text-case="uppercase" affects both, i'd like to keep "et al" always lowercase and in italic, unrelated to the names formatting.

Is this possible or the only solution is manually apply the format to "et al"?

Thanx
  • I'm in exactly the same situation.

The only thing I've found so far is the following:
    http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/3076/et-al-in-italic-/

...which suggests that it is not yet possible. :-(

I can't find any mention of this in the active Tickets. If it is not yet there it would be good for it to be added.
  • It's in the works. For the technically curious: CSL has been extended to allow for formatting of et al., and a new javascript CSL processor which will support this new feature is being build to replace the existing one used by Zotero.
  • Great thanks for the update.
