Word Plug-in for Mac gone

Hi all,

After installing the new stand-alone Zotero programme, my Mac Word tab for Zotero is gone. I have already checked whether it is installed under add on manager in the stand-alone. I have also tried manually adding the .dotm in the start-up folder and enabling it in Word.

What else can I try?

What version of Word and exact version number (e.g., 15.39)?

Okay, that version is very old. Start by updating Word to the current version (15.39)

When I check for updates, it says there are no updates available and I am still on version 15.13.1.

Any other things that are worth a try?

Manually download the 15.39 package from here and install.

My wife had the same issue where a rather outdated copy of Office 2016 for Mac wouldn't update. @bwiernik's suggestion probably works just as well, but I managed to update her old copy from within Office by first installing the latest Microsoft AutoUpdate (MAU) for Mac tool (currently at version 3.11). See the first link below to download the latest version of this tool.

Thank you @Rintze, this seems to be working. Since I'm in Myanmar, it might take a day or two to download this new update :) I'll make to update you all whether it worked or not.

I was unable to download a new version of Word. Thanks to the internet here lol.

However, for people experiencing similar problems, I was able to locate 'macros' in the developer tab. After a few clicks, I'm able to insert a new citation. Not ideal, but it's something.
