Current Neuropharmacology - ACS Style
Dear all,
I need to use the ACS Style recommended for the "Current Neuropharmacology" journal, but I can't seem to find any existing style that actually fits the requirements.
Here is an example of a journal reference:
[90] Gonçalves, A.; Marques, C.; Leal, E.; Ribeiro, C.F.; Reis, F.;
Ambrósio, A.F.; Fernandes, R. Dipeptidyl peptidase-IV inhibition
prevents blood-retinal barrier breakdown, inflammation and
neuronal cell death in the retina of type 1 diabetic rats. Biochim.
Biophys. Acta, 2014, 1842(9), 1454-1463. [http://dx.doi.org/
10.1016/j.bbadis.2014.04.013] [PMID: 24769045]
The year is in bold and the name of the journal is in italic. References in the text are also into brackets.
Has anyone already used this style or has a template that I could adapt?
Thank you in advance for your help,
Creupelandt C.

Can you post a link to the author guidelines for this journal, and we can add the style with this journal title?
There are still some minor changes to make before adding this style with the journal title.
That's what I get with the "american chemical society with titles sentence case, DOI" :
(36) Müller-Oehring, E. M.; Schulte, T.; Fama, R.; Pfefferbaum, A.; Sullivan, E. V. Global-local interference is related to callosal compromise in alcoholism: a behavior-DTI association study. Alcohol. Clin. Exp. Res. 2009, 33 (3), 477–489 DOI: 10.1111/j.1530-0277.2008.00858.x.
(Dates are in bold and journal titles in italic as required)
Here are the author guidelines for the journal: https://benthamscience.com/journals/current-neuropharmacology/author-guidelines/#top
Brackets should be used instead of parentheses, there should also be a comma after the name of the journal and no space between the volume and number (33(3)).
Since there is no mention of the DOI and PMID in the author guidelines, maybe it is added by the journal after submission.
@creupelandt Try this prepared style and post here your comments: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/libora/styles/3eabfe5cdcf4ec1614331c96ef5d3e4eca82db9f/current-neuropharmacology.csl
Here are the small differences, which are actually very similar to that mentionned above:
- The citation in the text is in the following format: [1]
- Similarly, the references are followed by the number into brackets in the reference section.
- There is a comma after the name of the journal
- There is no space between the volume and number
- There is a dot after the pages
The DOI format is the right one, thanks! Now I need to know how to add the PMID.
Have you ever published in this journal? Do you know if they edit the paper to add the DOI and PMID? Since they do not mention it in the guidelines... I might not add them if it is not mandatory.
I have never modified a code before, but maybe I could give it a try to have a perfect match
PMID you can write to the extra field in the form
PMID: 1234567
There is a little mistake that I corrected: the "i" is missing in [http://dx.do.org/...]
The main issue is that there are also difference for the other types of documents obviously.. And unfortunately I used 1 or 2 books and book chapters. Do you know how I can modify that?

I slightly modified @LiborA's code.
It seems to be pretty ok for article-journals, book chapters and books, but it might not be perfect.. I'll check it out more thoroughly.
Will you get this style added to the repository?
