failing Zotfile installation

Hi,

I am using Zotero 5.0.23 version and trying to install zotfile but just keep failing cause it doesn't pass the authentification process. Can you tell me how I can fix this? Thank you.

you should be installing Zotfile in Zotero, not in Firefox (and Zotero doesn't have an authentification process). Download the .xpi file for Zotfile and install via Tools --> Addons ---> install from file in Zotero.

I tried but unfortunately I couldn't find the tools button, help please.

Where exactly are you? Tools is a menu at the top in Zotero. Add-ons is listed in this menu. Once you're on the add-on screen, there are two crossed tools -- like a hammer and a screwdriver (the image varies by OS) that you need to click to get to install from file.

http://guides.lib.udel.edu/citationtools/zotero . there is a zotero screen shot here, and I realise mine is different from this one, it seems that this one on the webpage has a tool menu. I am wondering why there is a difference? Do I have to install another one?

no, that's Zotero for Firefox, that doesn't exist anymore. What's under the Tools menu for you?

Hmmm...that's wierd cause I don't have that menu line with "file, tools etc.." only the ones with buttons below them...

Which operating system? If you're on Windows or Ubuntu Linux, try pressing the alt button

It’s the standard menu bar at the top of the screen on Mac (the one that is there for every app that shows the app name and menus).
