Sync, unresponsive
I have been using the sync function & it has performed flawlessly over the last several weeks between two XP machines running Firefox 3.0.8.
Several days ago however Zotero stopped syncing automatically and when I click the round green arrow there is no visible response. That is, the sync "button" (the green arrow) depresses when I click on it and then releases but it does not begin to sync. There have been no other issues that I can tell (I can still add citations etc.).
Strange thing is that this behavior is demonstrated identically by both machines.
At some point yesterday the green arrow began spinning (not at my request & it spun for many hours) but did not accomplish a sync (no changes appear to have been made).
I have been trolling the web and discussion forums for several hours and have not been able to find a solution though please accept my apologies if this concern has been addressed elsewhere. The only thing I have found that I am unclear on is that there is a known issue that suggests that if a "tag" is over 256 characters. Does an abstract count as a "tag"?
Many thanks for any help.

http://www.zotero.org/support/kb/troubleshooting_sync_errors No, but overly-long abstracts or other fields might be problematic too. There are other issues that might occur, I wouldn't assume it was either of these until you tried to get more information about your problem, using the above documentation. Tags are essentially keywords & can be accessed in the left-most pane, below collections (you may have to click on the "tag selector" button immediately to the left of the gear icon to enable display of tags).
