Automatically adding new journal articles to collections

I am experiencing a problem when adding journal articles. When I click 'save to Zotero' from within a browser, the article is saved but is inconveniently added to whichever collection is currently open in Zotero. I then have to hunt through to find it and drag it to an appropriate collection.

It would make much more sense for the new article to be added to 'unfiled items' instead.

Is anyone else experiencing this or found a solution?

    This is by design and many people prefer to be able to select collections in which they wish to save.

    It's always worked this way, btw.

    There's no way to prevent this from happening, but you can sort by date added in the middle-panel, so it shouldn't be too hard to identify recently added items.
