problem trying to install with firefox as portableapp

I attempted to install the newest version of zotero to my usb drive version of firefox, but I got the error message:

Firefox could not install the file

http://www.zotero.org/download/zotero-1.0.0b4.r5.xpi

because: Download error -228

Any suggestions as to what I should try to do?

    One thing you might try is installing some other small Firefox extension, to see if it is a problem on the Firefox end. It could be that there is something broken with your USB-FF-installation's handling of extensions. Report back.

    Please see the installation instructions, linked to from the "Having trouble installing?" link on the front page. It mentions error -228.

    The solution: Download the XPI to the desktop first and then drag it into the Firefox window.
