saved entries do not appear in db

When I save new titles in my zotero library they do not appear in the database (neither under title nor creator). If I do a search, then they appear, but if I forget to open zotero and search for those new titles then they're not in my library. Any idea on how to solve this? Thanks

    Flora: If you're running an older version, please upgrade to the latest version, 1.0.0b4.r5, available from the front page. There were some refresh issues in older versions.
