i cant get desktop to sync to .org

it just wont do it. It keeps telling me to sign and no matter how many times i sign in it asks me to sign in. I sign in on .org and but when i go to sync on desktop i still have to sign in again to change my preferences which i do and i still have to sign in again. am i going crazy?

    I’m not sure I follow. Have you downloaded the Zotero desktop app and entered your account details in the Sync preferences pane?

    Hi Bwiernik,
    thank you for your comment. When I press sync (on the desktop panel with all the references) I get: "You must enter your zotero.org username and password in the Zotero preferences to sync with the Zotero server". I do this but I am not allowed to click the set up sync button which appears. Therefore I cannot sync. I'll be honest, I have zero appitude for software. I don't have any feel for it. Putting it bluntly I am a luddite. I write and I cite thats it.

    Are you by any chance dragging your password from a password manager? That's the only other case where we've see the Set Up Syncing button not become active. If you type or copy/paste, it should become active.
