Unable to capture keywords metadata

For what metadata type are keywords captured by zotero connector?
I have used dublin core "dc.subject", highwire press "citation_keywords", capturing with chrome zotero plugin. I have tried both "Embedded data" with "with DOI" in vain. In my understanding, the keywords tags should show in zotero desktop app under "tags". Is that correct? The site is currently being developed locally, hence can't provide a public link.

They are captured as tags. In the Zotero preferences, make sure the option for, Automatically import keywords and headings as tags, is checked.

@bwiernik , thanks for getting back to me. I checked and it seems by default that option is checked, at least on Zotero for Mac. I am using version 5.0.22. Can't the keywords be any arbitrary words? Is there any issue specifying them as comma-separated list, like below?

content="geography,luxembourg,travel,work,communication"

I have a vague recollection that automatic keywords are disabled for EM, though they're in the translator, because there is too much noise; would have to check, though.

@bwiernik, @adamsmith, please try https://engrxiv.org/k7fgk, it's using dublin core "dc.subject". It's a preprint service powered by OSF preprints. Currently, I am adding metatags to OSF Projects such as https://osf.io/ezcuj/ to allow Zotero to capture more info about projects.

What I said above is correct -- embedded metadata doesn't return automatic tags unless it's envoked from within a different translator, see

The reason is straightforward: there's just too much junk in the keywords in EM in general, mostly as a result of clumsy attempts at SEO. Sorry about that!
