...MS Word Integration

Hi

Please Help.

I am having issues using Zotero with MS Word.
I am using Office 365 on Windows 10 - I can't find the Zotero button to create my references.

It's been a while since I last used Zotero.
Previously, I used the FireFox integration version.
When using this version - I had previously connected the MS Word integration tool.
At that time - Zotero created a Zotero button in Word (which I can no longer find).

It seems that it is now suggested that I use Zotero 5.
I downloaded Zotero 5 - linked to my on-line library - so far so good.
I can't seem to connect with MS Word and create my reverences.

    In the Zotero preferences, on the Cite pane, click Word Processors, then re-install the Word plugin. Does that fix it, otherwise what happens?

    What specific version of Word are you running (in the About Word screen)? Are you running the Office Insider beta version?

    MS Word 2016 MSO 16.0.8431.2046 32 Bit
    I did reinstall the plug-in - it messaged me - Successful.
    Maybe I just don't know where to look in Word to find the Zotero button

    I don't see a Zotero "button" anywhere on the MS Word ribbon.
    Where on the ribbon should it be located?

    In it's own Zotero tab. Did you get any sort of error message when you clicked to re-install the plugin?

    Look in your Word startup folder, do you see Zotero.dotm there?

    Yes it is in the startup folder
    I did not receive an error message when I re-installed it.
    MS Word does not have a Zotero tab

    If you double click on the Zotero.dotm file to open it, does the Zotero tab appear on the ribbon?

    Yes it does.
    But there is a "but"
    The Zotero tab appears in a new instance of Word.
    When I open the doc that I wish to use with Zotero - the Zotero tab does not appear in the Word instance with the opened doc


    BTW - I have 2 copies of the Zotero file

    a Word 2016 version
    a Word 1997 to 2003 template

    (I’m asking questions trying to figure out exactly where in the loading process it is failing for you.)

    Okay, in the Developer tab in Word, click the Word/COM Add-ins button. Do you see the Zotero template with a check box there? Check it. Then Zotero should load normally.

    (You can delete or ignore the Word 2003 version of the Zotero template.)

    It was not checked.
    I checked it.
    No Zotero tab
    I closed Word and re-opened Word
    No Zotero tab

    Check your macro settings in Word Preferences - Trust Centre. You should allow Macros, or at the very least, under the Add-ins preferences make sure that Macros are enabled for add-ons.
