Problem to open Zotero interface in firefox 56. or in chrome 61.

Hello,

I change my computer recently and I download firefox and zotero connector for firefox. The plug-in installation seems to run but unfortunately I can't open zotero interface on my web page. I have got the "Save to Zotero" button but nothing to open zotero web interface. I have tried on chrome and I have got the same problem.
I can install zotero standalone but it doesn't resolve my problem on my web page.

I used to work with zotero before and I have got no problem to open zotero web interface.

Thank you for helping me,

Clément

What you mean by "Zotero interface on my web page" exactly? The current 5th version of Zotero is only available as Standalone and not for Firefox.
Safe to Zotero does not open any instance of Zotero. Do you see error windows "Zotero is offline" after clicking on Save to Zotero button?

Hi! I had the same question as Clément. Thanks for your answer, LiborA!
Just to clarify: Does this mean it's no longer possible to use Zotero as a browser addon?

With the previous version, it was possible to choose between the browser addon (opened Zotero in new tab) and the standalone version (if installed).
  • Yes, it exactly means this. Respectively for a short period, you can use the old version of Zotero (4.X) in the Firefox.

    See please this explanation https://www.zotero.org/blog/a-unified-zotero-experience/
  • Thank you for your answers. It's clear now.

Last question : where can we download an old version of zotero (4.X) on zotero.org ?

    Thanks again.

  • Yes, on the https://www.zotero.org/download/ click on link "Looking for Zotero 4.0?"
  • Sad, but good to know. Thank you!
  • Thank you very much LiborA. It is working !
