Editing Object Name in Zotero Standalone
Hello,
This is an extremely basic question, and my guess is there is a very obvious answer that I have so far missed. I'm using Zotero standalone 5 for the Mac. I added an item to the library. I used to be able to single click on the item title in order to edit that title. I can't seem to edit it with a single click, and a double click opens the item. Control click pops up a menu including duplicate item, but does not offer me a rename option.
Thanks,
Sam

If you see the right-hand panel, you're likely looking at a file rather than a Zotero item. You need to attach the file (e.g. a PDF) to an item either by using right-click--> Retrieve Metadata or (if that doesn't work) right-click --> Create Parent Item.
I thought the answer would be embarrassingly easy. Thanks!
You're right, I had collapsed the right side panel. I had tried clicking on the right side of the window, but nothing happened. I hadn't noticed the little bubble in the center that one has to click in order to re-open the right side panel.
