Tanslator missing italics

I see that Zotero now recognizes italics in titles (scientific names, latin phrases etc) and adds html tags automatically. This however does not work in all cases. Is this a known issue? What is the best way to report about the places where it doesn't work?

It's known as in we don't always get italics in the metadata from publishers, yes. Reports here (e.g. in this thread) are great and we'll fix this where we can, but no promises that there's going to be a solution for every case.

Thank you! Can you tell me around when this feature was introduced? I tried looking at the change log for 4 and 5 but didn't find anything from a quick search.

I'm seeing this problem with American Society of Microbiology (ASM) journals (http://www.journals.asm.org), including (but probably not limited to) Journal of Bacteriology (http://www.jb.asm.org), Applied and Environmental Microbiology (http://www.aem.asm.org), Infection and Immunity (http://www.iai.asm.org).

I'll add more to this thread as I find them.

The feature itself is ancient (2010 if not earlier) -- it's really just a question of whether it works and/or was implemented for a particular site. We'd want specific article URLs for pieces with italics.

http://journals.plos.org/plosgenetics/article?id=10.1371/journal.pgen.1006968 also doesn't save italics (and the "PLoS Journals" translator title should be renamed "PLOS Journals", per https://storify.com/PLoSblogs/what-an-o-can-do-on-a-slow-day and http://blogs.plos.org/plos/2012/07/new-plos-look/)
