ID 60787833: Attached PDF does not open, Zotero says to restart & report
Z 5.0.17 on Mac OS X 10.10.5 (Yosemite)
An item has an attached pdf file. Clicking on the attachment does not open it. Instead, clicking brings up a message from Zotero saying the file cannot be opened and instructing to restart Zotero. Restarting did fix the problem.
The attached file itself resides at a remote location and is accessed via WebDAV.

As I mentioned, it happened, I restarted Zotero, and after that the attachment opened. I've been working with Zotero pretty much non-stop since I reported the problem this morning, and things have been OK ever since.
Now I don't know how to replicate the problem. This ignorance is compounded by the facts that I have no idea what caused the problem in the first place, but it may have been due to an extension or interactions among multiple extensions. There didn't seem to be any special circumstances when the problem occurred.
