Zotero 4

Hi
I m using Zotero 4 and very much comfortable with the same. As Zotero 5 is launched, in case, I want to keep continuing with zotero 4, are there any problems likely to be faced in future.

As I tried downloading zotero 4 on different system it was downloaded however I was unable to install the word plugins for the same to generate the bibliography and text in citation.

if It's not feasible continuing with Zotero 4 then please tell me the steps for transferring my whole data which is on Zotero 4 to Zotero 5

Thanks Deepti
  • You can continue with Zotero 4, but in the future will be added new items to the Zotero, and these items cannot be added to the data structure of Zotero 4. It is the matter, why the version 5 was prepared.
Data will be migrated from Z4 to Z5 automatically.

Syncing to Zotero 4 clients will be turned off in the coming months (this is necessary to make the changes to available item types and fields LiborA describes), and Zotero 4 won't receive any further bug fixes.

As LiborA describes, you can just install Zotero 5 and your Zotero 4 database will be automatically upgraded.
  • I tried downloading the zotero 5 but my data from zotero 4 to 5 was not transferred automatically please help
  • What exactly is happening when you open Zotero 5?
  • earlier I was having zotero 4 firefox on my system, just before 15 minutes I tried downloading Zotero connector then whole my library which displays when I open the firefox, got dissappeared and it pops up message that "Zotero is offline. The Zotero Connector was unable to communicate with the Zotero desktop application. The Connector can save some pages directly to your zotero.org account, but for best results you should make sure Zotero is open before attempting to save."

    Please look into it
  • Now its done. thanks.

It sounds like you need to download and install the Zotero 5 Standalone program. http://zotero.org/download
