I just switched to Mac and found my Zetero also becomes very slow: I have a large dataset (>20000 entries) and it will take 1-2 minutes to open. Turning off/on the tag selector does not have significant effects. I checked a couple of times the debug output and found it took more than 1 minute (sometimes 2 minutes) to get the "user interface ready". Here is the debug code D726932896 that i submitted. " (3)(+0000001): User interface ready in 65419 ms " When I insert citations into Word file, it still a bi slow to open the citation window. I can clearly feel the slowness, compared to the PC I am using in my office.
My Mac pro is a bit old, but the specs are still fine: 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 Graphics MD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB
I would really appreciate if some of you could give me some suggestions.
dstillman, Thank you very much for looking into this issue. bwiernik, Yes, post-startup is not slow, only the first time opening. As always, thank you all very much for providing this wonderful tool.
