Auto-updating of Zotero 4.0

    We're going to try to push out another build of Zotero 4.0 for Firefox
    A little off-topic, but are there any known issues with auto-updating of Zotero for Firefox in 4.0.x? I recently helped two of my colleagues and discovered they were still on ca. two-year old versions of Zotero Standalone, and if I recall correctly I couldn't update from within the program but had to reinstall.

    I recall there were some auto-updating issues, but I don't recall whether that was with ZfF or ZS.

    Updates Not Detected explains one way that Zotero for Firefox updates can be broken by security software.

    For Zotero Standalone, macOS 10.6–10.8 users only get up to 4.0.29.11 for compatibility reasons, and there were a couple Mac builds in 2015 with broken auto-updaters that required manual updating (and said so if you went to Check for Updates…).

    I'm not aware of any other issues.

    Okay, thanks. This was on Windows 7.

    I'll keep an eye out for any other cases.
