Search in v5 - ability to find entries w special characters with "simple"ones

Is it possible within v 5.0.4 to change the settings, so that a search for "fernandes-gimenez" also yields name entries that read "Fernández-Giménez"? Or "uberhauser" and "Überhäuser"?
