I get the error "cannot communicate with Zotero. Please ensure Firefox is open and try again" when I attempt to insert a citation into a document. The strange thing is that this error only occurs on one computer (my laptop, Win XP) and not my home desktop (Vista 64).
I can put citations into a new document. I followed the troubleshooting guide on the support page with no success. The error I get is a Javascript error, along the lines of "this.style is undefined". I'm using the RSC (Royal Society of Chemistry) citation style.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Word plugin ... not sure, very recently installed.
Office 2003.
I just had this "cannot communicate" error. It turned out to be because the style file wasn't available in this copy of Zotero. Now I have several copies syncing (Linux, Window, Mac ...) keeping style files synced would be really useful. For sharing, carrying the style with the document would be ideal.
A more helpful error message would be great.
But at least, it would be very helpful to have a note on this issue on the page on plugin troubleshooting page in the "debugging broken documents" page would be great.
